My work works through metaphorical social relationships. I made an artificial spider’s web out of fishing line, inspired by reading Xu Dishan’s short story “The Spider in the Web”, which shows that Chinese human society is like a social network built by a person. The spider has to mend the web so that the spider can have food to live on. It is like a network of contacts that one builds and keeps weaving this web.
